Marc Rysman

Professor of Economics, Boston University

Marc Rysman is a Professor of Economics at Boston University. His research focuses on industrial organization and competition, particularly issues of network effects, two-sided markets, standardization, and compatibility. He has worked on a variety of industries, such as telecommunication, payment cards, consumer electronics, and Yellow Pages directories. In developing country settings, his research covers import quotas on cultural goods, international drug gangs, and air services agreements. He teaches on industrial organization, econometrics, antitrust, and regulation. He is a past editor of the RAND Journal of Economics, President of the Industrial Organization Society, and department chair. He received a PhD in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
